    Alex has lived with type 1 diabetes since she was seven years old, and is blind in her right eye and has 20% vision in her left eye. At the start of 2023, Alex turned to Guide Dogs SA/NT for help. Not long after, she got a call that would change her life. Alex was told about a dog – sassy, gorgeous, and perfect for her.   • Guide Dogs Queensland: Christmas Appeal

    Michael is blind, but he’s witnessed more miracles than most. In fact, he takes one to work with him every day... his Guide Dog, Larry. And right now, there are 26 up-and-coming dogs who are on the home stretch of their training journey.

Understanding your impact

Thanks to the generosity of donors just like you, across Australia in Financial Year 2024/25 we were able to:

  • Support 657 qualified Guide Dog Handlers and their dogs in the community
  • Welcome 391 future Guide Dogs into the world
  • Place 883 other working dogs (for example, Therapy Dogs, service dogs, or Companion Dogs) with their new partners.
