Help the Petspiration Foundation raise $200,000 in August
Throughout August, the Petspiration Foundation (formally PETstock Assist) is on a mission to raise $200,000 for Guide Dogs Australia to help transform the lives of those living with low vision or blindness.
The Petspiration Foundation’s donation will support Guide Dogs Australia’s extensive range of services that help people living with low vision or blindness gain the freedom and independence to move safely and confidently around their communities.
The Petspriation Foundation has been a proud and long-standing partner of Guide Dogs, and since 2014, has donated almost $500,000 to the organization.
The Petspiration Foundation’s Charity and Events Lead, Sherralea Cassidy, says the initiative provides an opportunity to raise funds so that children and adults with low vision or blindness can reach their personal potential.
“Through this initiative, we hope to raise awareness of the incredible work carried out by Guide Dogs and educate Australians on the opportunities that are available to support them.
“Throughout August we’re calling upon animal lovers – and anyone that wants to make a difference to the lives of those living with low vision or blindness – to donate and help us reach our target of $200,000 to help Guide Dogs transform a life.
“With the help of generous supply partners, we want to continue building on our existing community of people that celebrate and support the work of Guide Dogs Australia in August and beyond.”
Guide Dogs Australia Client, Nikki Drake, says that they have experienced first-hand how a donation such as this can transform the lives of people living with low vision or blindness.
“Working with Guide Dogs Australia has given me the confidence and independence that I need to move safely around my community, and with generous donations from partners such as Petspiration Foundation, I’m able to continue being supported by Guide Dogs,” says Nikki.
Guide Dogs Australia Mobility Instructor, Ryan Jones, says that the generous donation will play an essential role in helping the organisation grow and maintain its wide range of services that positively impact the lives of those living with low vision or blindness.
“Our wide range of services extend beyond much-loved Guide Dogs, to Orientation and Mobility Training, Occupational Therapy, Therapy Dogs, Connection and Peer Support Services, Advocacy and many more,” says Ryan.
“We’re so thankful to have the support of the Petspiration Foundation – and the many people across the nation that choose to donate – so that we can continue to offer our services and positively impact the lives of people with blindness or low vision.”
PETstock’s retail partners including Boehringer Ingelheim (NexGard, HeartGard, ParaGard & NexGard Spectra), PAW by Blackmores, Rogz and Kong have all committed to help raise funds and awareness of Guide Dogs in August.
